Parcl Partners with Super Bowl Champion Ndamukong Suh on Home Giveaway, Purchasing Down Payment on Winner’s House
Blockchain-based real estate investment platform and Suh Family Foundation are bringing attention to the housing crisis
NEW YORK, NY; May 24th, 2022 - Parcl, the blockchain-based real estate platform that allows users to invest in a digital square foot of real estate in the most desirable neighborhoods around the world, today announced the start of the Parcl Homeowners Association Giveaway in partnership with the Suh Family Foundation, a non-profit founded by Ndamukong Suh and his wife Katya.
Parcl and the Suh Family Foundation are using the giveaway to help level the playing field for those priced out of owning a home. Although homeownership is considered a cornerstone of the “American Dream,” with elevated inflation, a housing supply crisis, and significant institutional participation in the residential real estate market, it’s increasingly difficult to own or invest in real property.
Parcl and the Suh Family Foundation are partnering to provide one lucky winner with a down payment on a home worth up to $100,000, including an entire year’s worth of mortgage and tax payments. Here’s how the giveaway will work:
- From May 24th through June 3rd, participants should upload a video to TikTok using the #ParclHomeGiveaway hashtag, tell us why owning a home is important to you.
- Participants will also need to fill out an application form via the landing page.
- Parcl and the Suh Family Foundation will choose five finalists based on their personal story, engagements, and more
- Once the five finalists have been selected, the Parcl community will then have 48 hours to vote on the grand prize winner.
“Given our mission to deliver real estate to everyone and provide everyone with the opportunity to invest in the asset class, we wanted to give back to the community by providing homeownership directly,” said Trevor Bacon, Parcl Co-Founder and CEO. “Ndamukong Suh’s passion for making real estate accessible for all made the Suh Family Foundation the perfect partner for this project.”
The Suh Family Foundation works hand-in-hand with communities to supply resources across three pillars that were pivotal to the Suh's own success: education, health and wellness, and empowerment.
“The partnership between the Suh Family Foundation and Parcl is an opportunity for me to combine two of my major passions – philanthropy and real estate,” said Ndamukong Suh. “Parcl shares my commitment to bringing attention to the housing crisis in America, and I'm proud that this giveaway will help make home ownership a reality for someone.”
Parcl is a synthetic asset protocol, built on and backed by Solana, that is on a mission to deliver real estate to everyone. The Parcl protocol allows users to invest in a digital square foot of real estate in neighborhoods across the world. It does so by allowing for the creation of synthetic “Parcls”. Parcls are tied to a proprietary valuation index (Parcl Price Feed or PPF), representing the median price per square foot/meter within each neighborhood boundary. The PPF continuously tracks the underlying price movements of the real estate assets represented by each Parcl geo-boundary, and real-time price updates flow into the smart contracts via an oracle.
With Parcl’s blockchain-based trading system, users can benefit from broad (or highly granular) exposure to the world’s most desirable real estate markets. Parcl requires no minimum investment, offers increased liquidity, and carries low transaction fees, so investors can trade their favorite neighborhoods just like they trade Bitcoin, Ethereum, or other crypto assets.
